Common questions
Can a battery be installed without solar?
In many cases, yes. Final compatibility and operating goals are confirmed during the site and electrical review.
How much storage has Trojan Solar installed?
Trojan Solar reports more than 5 MW of storage installed across Tesla and Enphase battery systems.
Does battery storage provide whole-home backup?
Backup scope depends on battery capacity, load profile, electrical service and system design. Trojan Solar sizes each solution around the property.

Questions to ask before choosing your system
What determines the timeline for my project?
Your schedule depends on roof readiness, the final equipment design, engineering, permits, utility approval and installation availability. Ask for a written project schedule that separates installation from inspection and permission to operate; those are different milestones.
What information should I bring to a solar consultation?
Bring a recent electric bill showing energy use, your service address, the approximate roof age and your goals. Tell us whether you want lower grid use, backup for selected appliances, or a coordinated roofing and solar project. This helps the team assess the property before recommending equipment.
How should I compare battery backup options?
List the appliances and circuits you want to keep running and how long you need them. Battery capacity, power output, starting loads and available solar charging all affect the design. Ask the team to document which loads are included and the assumptions behind any runtime estimate.
What should I ask about subscription and financing options?
Ask who owns the equipment, the payment schedule, any annual escalator, total payments, service responsibilities and what happens when you sell the home. A 0% escalator describes scheduled annual payment increases; it does not by itself mean a 0% interest rate or no other charges. Compare the actual written agreement.
How do I compare warranty coverage?
Request the manufacturer, installer and monitoring terms separately. Confirm the coverage period, labor and service-call costs, exclusions, transfer conditions and claim contact. Omnidian and Enphase support depends on the selected equipment and agreement; the written terms control.
Should the roof be addressed before solar installation?
Have the roof condition assessed before approving the solar layout. Discuss roof age, planned replacement, mounting details and any future panel removal and reinstallation responsibilities. Coordinating both scopes helps you understand the work and costs before installation.
